    NCH Marks Fifth Year At
    Sutter Novato Medical Campus

It has been five years since Novato Community Hospital moved into its new, state-of-the-art facility at 180 Rowland Way in Novato. While taking a look back to review the accomplishments of the last five years, the 47-bed hospital is also looking ahead and planning for the future.

Anne Hosfeld, RNSince it opened to patients in May 2001, Novato Community Hospital has become one of the stars in the Sutter Health family of 26 not-for-profit hospitals in Northern California. Chief Administrative Officer Anne Hosfeld, RN says, “We have a very simple mission and that is to provide the best possible care to our patients.”

During the past five years, NCH has become known for the latest high tech diagnostic and treatment services. A third surgery suite, which opened last spring, enables the latest advances in minimally invasive surgery. This has helped to make NCH a regional leader in joint replacement and sports surgery.

In 2005 NCH and neighboring Sutter Health affiliate Marin General Hospital were named among the top 10 connected imaging sites in the nation by Health Imaging and IT Magazine. And this September, the hospital looks forward to installing a digital mammography machine – the result of a community fundraising campaign – as well as an expansion of the outpatient diagnostic laboratory.

“Everything we’ve accomplished since 2001 would have been impossible without all of us at NCH working together to provide our patients with the quality care they expect to receive at our hospital,” Hosfeld said. “While we are proud of our awards and our achievements, our patients are what really matter the most.”
