The staff in our Emergency Department are here to care for you any time of the day or night. Board certified emergency physicians and highly skilled emergency nurses staff this department.

Diagnostic Imaging Services
|
|
Inpatient and outpatient services include CT, MRI, x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, mammography, bone density survey, nuclear medicine, echocardiography and cardiac stress testing. Simple x-rays are available for drop inpatients at the new Outpatient Diagnostic Center in the Medical Office Building. Echocardiography services and stress testing are located within the Diagnostic Imaging Department on the first floor of the hospital. Outpatient EKGs are performed in the Outpatient Diagnostic Center in the Medical Office Building.

Laboratory
|
|
Inpatient and outpatient services are available. The Laboratory is located on the first floor. Outpatient labs are located in the Outpatient Diagnostic Center on the first floor of the Medical Office Building.

Critical Care Unit
|
|
Family members and significant others can visit for short periods of time around-the-clock, depending on the patient's stability. We ask that visitors not bring flowers or gifts.

Medical/Surgical In-Patient Care Unit
|
Surgery
|
|
Inpatient and same day. Same Day Surgery is for patients who need surgery or a diagnostic test, but do not require overnight hospitalization. A brochure is available which explains how to plan for surgery.

Pharmacy
|
|
Inpatient services only
|

|
Rehabilitation Services
|
|
Inpatient physical, speech and occupational therapies. The Novato Community Hospital Physical Therapy Department offers inpatient services for general rehabilitation in orthopedics and specialists in lymphedema and urinary incontinence.

|
Respiratory Care
|
|
24-hour acute care service for inpatients; outpatient therapy and pulmonary function testing; home care assistance
|
|
|
Same Day Surgery
|
|
There are seven private rooms. Patients prepare for surgery and recover in the same room. Families may wait in the room or in the waiting room. The Surgery Suite is made up of three operating rooms and a procedure room.

|
Post Anesthesia Care Unit
|
|
This unit has three beds and is located next to the Same Day Surgery unit.
|
|
|
Special Procedures
|
|
Depending on patient needs, special procedures are performed in two primary areas. The Diagnostic Imaging Department is for patients requiring radiographic viewing. All other procedures are performed in the Surgery Suite.

Health Education Resource Center
|
|
The Health Education Resource Center has books, journals, medical textbooks and other educational material. The work areas have desks and computers (with Internet access) and printers.

Community Benefit Services
|

Access For Kids seeks to make sure that every youngster has health insurance
Health Express provides seniors and disabled with transportation to from medical appointments.
Novato Health Partnership provides free year round medical care uninsured and underinsured children

Gifts, clothing, jewelry, stuffed animals, paperbacks, magazines, candy and fresh flowers may be purchased. Seasonal items available.
